Health Protection Agency (HPA) has said that another 53 people have recovered from COVID-19 in the Maldives raising the total recoveries to 14,472.

Statistics show that has said from 6 p.m. yesterday to 6 p.m. today, 53 people recovered from COVID-19 raising the total number of recoveries in the country to 14,472 with another 2,014 people still in treatment.

In the same time frame, 110 people tested positive for COVID-19 from the Male’ Area along with 20 people from the resorts and the atolls.

There has been a spike in daily COVID cases since last week the daily figures above 100 despite the low number of cases in December 2020.

So far, there have been 54 COVID-related fatalities in the Maldives that includes 47 locals, six Bangladeshi nationals and a man from Philippines.
