A Maldivian has passed away due to COVID-19 related complications, raising the total COVID-deaths in the country to 53.
Health Protection Agency (HPA) said that today at 03:42pm, a 70-year-old Maldivian male admitted at DH11 has passed away. They added that this becomes the 53rd COVID death in the country.
With this, the total number of COVID deaths in the country is currently at 46 locals and seven foreigners that include nationals from Bangladeshi and Philippines.
The first reported COVID-19 death in the country was on 29 April 2020 after an 83-year-old woman passed away.
