Health Emergency Operation Center (HEOC) has announced that wearing face masks are mandatory in all inhabited islands amid the growing number of COVID-19 cases.

Health Protection Agency (HPA) has decided on various new restrictions following the increase of COVID cases.

As such, starting February 7th, it is mandatory to wear masks in public that covers the nose, mouth, and chin properly, in all residential islands.

They however noted that certain people are not required to wear the mask, based on their situation. This includes:

- Children below two years of age

- People out to exercise, during the time of exercise

- People who cannot wear/remove masks without help

- People who are seeking F&B services during the time of consumption
