A new curfew for Male' City has been announced from 11:00pm till 4:30am amid the growing number of COVID cases.

The capital city has seen numerous curfews amid the COVID-19 pandemic, the long curfews since March 2020 were shortened late last year and finally lifted entirely on 18 December.

Due to the increase in cases, HPA imposed a new curfew last Wednesday. Along with the new curfew, parties and ceremonies would be illegal in the Male’ area. The curfew then was from 12:00am till 4:00am.

However, the timings have now been changed and the new curfew will begin at 11:00pm and end 4:30am. In addition to this, road vehicles are banned starting 8:30pm until 4:30pm.
