A person in home quarantine at Gaafu Dhaalu Thinadhoo has tested positive for COVID-19.

One Online has learned that the person who tested positive from the island is a man.

Abdula Samad Memorial Hospital in Thinadhoo said that the person was confirmed after testing due to symptoms and a contact tracing operation is underway. With this new case, there are two positive cases in Thinadhoo.

Meanwhile, a total of 15,102 cases of COVID-19 has been reported from the Maldives s far with 1,160 people in treatment and 87 of those people are being treated at hospitals.

And 51 people have passed away due to COVID-related complications in the Maldives that includes 44 locals, six Bangladeshi nationals and a Philippine national.
