A Maldivian has passed away at state-run IGMH due to COVID-19 related complications, raising the total COVID-deaths in the country to 50.
Health Protection Agency (HPA) said that today at 09:50am, a 77-year-old Maldivian male was taken to the ER in IGMH in an unresponsive state. They added that he was declared dead at 10:14am.
With this, the total number of COVID deaths in the country is currently at 43 locals and seven foreigners that include nationals from Bangladeshi and Philippines.
The first reported COVID-19 death in the country was on 29 April 2020 after an 83-year-old woman passed away.
