Over 37,000 tourists have visited the Maldives in the first two weeks of 2021.

The latest statistics from the Tourism Ministry show a total of 37, 926 tourists visiting the Maldives in the firs 13 days of the year. An average of 2,917 tourists have been visiting the Maldives this year with a stay of an average ten days in the country.

Ministry statistics also states that the highest number of tourists have visited from Russia with 10,002 tourists followed by India with 5,727 tourists followed by UK with 3,472.

While the tourism hopes of the country have begun to be realized, 42,244 tourists are currently in operation via 32,636 beds in 141 resorts, 7,032 beds in hotels and guesthouses and 133 beds in safari yachts.

According to statistics, a total number of 555,399 tourists visited the Maldives in 2020.
