Niyama Resort being operated in Dhaalu Atoll has recorded 12 positive cases of COVID-19 so far.

HEOC Spokesperson, Dr. Nazla Rafeeq revealed to One that the total number of positive cases in Niyama resort has now climbed to 12. This includes five employees and seven guests.

Dr. Nazla noted that an employee had tested positive first. A guest who has no connection to these cases have also tested positive.

She further added that 26 people have been quarantined so far due to the cluster. The island has also been under monitoring since December 30th.

The total number of Covid cases in Maldives have now reached 13,834. Total recoveries are at 13,166 leaving 613 active cases.
