The daily average tourist arrivals in the Maldives this month has gone over 3,000.
Latest statistics from the Tourism Ministry show that from 1 to 27 December 2020, the daily average of tourist arrivals is at 3,085. This is the first time the daily average has gone over 3,000 since the Maldives reopened its borders on 15 July 2020.
Tourism Ministry statistics also show that the average stay of the tourists visiting the Maldives have gone up to nine days.
While the daily average visits have over 3,000, yesterday saw the highest number of tourists visiting the country in a single day since the border reopening with 6,037 tourists. The previous highest daily visit was 5,674 tourists recorded on 20 December.
And so, the total tourist visits from 15 July to 27 December is 159,440 while a total of 542,287 tourists have visited the Maldives this year so far.
