Air France is set to resume flights to the Maldives tomorrow since the Maldives reopened its borders on 15 July 2020.

The French national airline initially began flights to the Maldives in 2017 and was suspended amid the COVID-19 pandemic. The airline is set to resume operations with three flights a week.

Since the Maldives reopened its borders in July, 115,730 tourists have visited the country. And 500,000 tourists have visited the country this year so far.

Statistics released by the Tourism Ministry show that 20 international airlines have resumed flights to the Maldives including the Bahrain’s national airline, Gulf Air starting flights last week.

And seven more airlines are set to begin flights before the end of the year including European airlines.

Due to high demand in the peak tourism season, some airlines have increased the number of weekly flights to the Maldives with Emirates and Qatar Airways holding three flights a week and Sri Lankan Airlines starting flights between London and Maldives.
