Gulf Hotels Group (GHG), a prominent hospitality company from Bahrain, has officially commenced efforts to develop a luxury resort in the Maldives.

GHG has entrusted the execution of this project to Keiretsu Private Limited, a notable company in the Maldivian tourism sector. Keiretsu is a company that has previously played a key role in designing, planning, and developing resorts such as Hilton Maldives Amingiri and Waldorf Astoria Maldives Ithaafushi.

Located in Malé Atoll, this luxury resort is being developed in an area accessible within a 25-minute speedboat ride from Velana International Airport. The resort's design features beachfront and overwater villas, with plans to establish all necessary amenities for tourists. According to GHG, these will include high-quality restaurants, a tranquil wellness center, and centers dedicated to various recreational activities.

GHG's CEO, Ahmed Janahi, stated that this is a significant opportunity for the company to expand its services into the Indian Ocean region. With a history spanning over 50 years, the company successfully operates numerous resorts and hotels in Bahrain, as well as the UAE and African nations. The resort being developed in the Maldives is scheduled to be managed in collaboration with a world-renowned hotel brand, and the company notes that further details regarding this will be disclosed in the future.
