Over 3,800 tourist visits has been recorded yesterday alone making the record highest tourist visits to the Maldives in a single day since the borders were reopened on 15 July 2020.

Statistics released by the Tourism Ministry show 3,864 tourist arrivals in the Maldives yesterday breaking the previous record of 3,006 tourist arrivals on a single day.

With this number, the total number of tourists visits to the Maldives since the border reopening in mid-July of the year is currently at 103,557 tourist visits and 486,404 tourist visits this year. Tourism Ministry now estimates over 500,000 tourist arrivals by 19 December.

Ministry statistics show an average of 2,285 tourist arrivals this month and spends an average of 8.4 days in the Maldives.

Since the border reopening, the highest number of tourists have visited from Russia with 21,856 tourists followed by India with 15,774 tourists.
