The total number of COVID-19 cases in the Maldives have risen to 13,326 after another 18 people tested positive in the past 24 hours.

Health Protection Agency (HPA) said that from 6 p.m. yesterday to 6 p.m. today, 18 people have tested positive including 16 people in Male' area and 1 person from the atolls along with a person from a resort under development. HPA did not clarify numbers in terms of locals and foreigners.

In the same time frame, 19 people recovered from COVID-19 raising the total number of recoveries in the country to 12,640 with another 63 people still in treatment.

Statistics from the HPA show that there are 60 people being treated at the hospitals.

So far, there have been 48 COVID-related fatalities in the Maldives that includes 41 locals, six Bangladeshi nationals and a man from Philippines.
