The total number of COVID-19 recoveries has risen to 12,199 after another 45 people have recovered from the illness.
Health Protection Agency (HPA) said that from 6 p.m. yesterday to 6 p.m. today, 45 people recovered from COVID-19 raising the total number of recoveries in the country to 12,199 with another 890 people still in treatment.
In the same time frame, 37 people have tested positive including 30 people in Male' area, two from the atolls, two from the resorts and one person on a safari yacht. HPA did not clarify numbers in terms of locals and foreigners.
While the total number of COVID-19 cases in the Maldives is currently at 13,143, HPA said that there are 78 people being treated in the hospitals.
So far, there have been 47 COVID-related fatalities in the Maldives that includes 40 locals, six Bangladeshi nationals and a man from Philippines.
