The total number of COVID-19 cases has risen to 14,143 after another 37 people tests positive for the illness.
Health Protection Agency (HPA) said that from 6 p.m. yesterday to 6 p.m. today, 37 people have tested positive including 30 people in Male' area, two from the atolls, two from the resorts and one person on a safari yacht. HPA did not clarify numbers in terms of locals and foreigners.
In the same time frame, 45 people recovered from COVID-19 raising the total number of recoveries in the country to 12,199 with another 890 people still in treatment.
HPA said that there are 78 people being treated in the hospitals.
So far, there have been 47 COVID-related fatalities in the Maldives that includes 40 locals, six Bangladeshi nationals and a man from Philippines.
