After another 44 people test positive for COVID-19 in the Maldives in the past 24 hours raising the total number of cases in the country to 12,854.

Health Protection Agency (HPA) said that from 6 p.m. yesterday to 6 p.m. today, 44 people have tested positive including 34 in Male' area and 02 in operational resorts.

In the same time frame, 21 people recovered from COVID-19, totaling the number of recoveries in the country 11,681 with another 1,120 people still in treatment.

So far, there have been 46 COVID-related fatalities in the Maldives that includes 39 locals, seven Bangladeshi nationals and a man from Philippines.
