50 tested positive in 24 hours, 19 locals

After another 50 people test positive for COVID-19 in the Maldives in the past 24 hours raising the total number of cases in the country to 12,204.

Health Protection Agency (HPA) said that from 6 p.m. yesterday to 6 p.m. today, 50 people have tested positive including 19 locals and 31 foreigners.

In the same time frame, 18 people recovered from COVID-19, totaling the number of recoveries in the country 11,289 with another 865 people still in treatment.

So far, there have been 27 COVID-related fatalities in the Maldives that includes 35 locals, seven Bangladeshi nationals and a man from Philippines.
