The body of Sidhrathullah Ahmed, who was found dead at sea near Indhira Gandhi Memorial Hospital has been sent abroad for an autopsy.

Police spokesperson, Athifa Hassan had confirmed the news to "One". The autopsy is to be conducted at the Medical College Hospital in Trivandrum, India.

The body of 31-year-old Sidhrathullah was found at sea on October 23rd. Though IGMH confirmed several injuries were found on the body, they were unable to confirm the nature of these injuries. Since his death could not be ruled out as a death from natural causes, Police had decided to conduct an autopsy and had kept his body in the morgue till today.

Maldives Police Service had released a video of the last known sighting of the young man and had requested assistance from the public in the investigation into his death.

The footage released by Police show Sidhurathulla walking towards the Rasfannu beach area. This was said to be around 09:00 am and 10:00 am on Thursday – one day before he was found dead.
