Maldives Police Service has revealed the identities of four men who are allegedly involved in an attempt to steal a large amount of money while being transported to Bank of Ceylon.

The attempted theft of over MVR 4 million which was being transported to Bank of Ceylon (BOC) by Root took place on October 25th, around 11:40am.

Police noted that four men are accused of participating in the attempted theft and had revealed their identities today.

They are; Ahmed Ameer, 20, Pink Villa, Vilimale’, Mohamed Mus’ab Zubair, 23, Caneermaage, G. A. Vilingili, Hussain Abdul Majeed, 22, Dhafthar no. 3648 and Abdulla Rashid, 27, Keemiyage, Thundi, L. Gan.

The police said all four suspects have prior records for theft, armed robbery, assault, and drug offenses.

They were remanded in custody of the police for 15 days when presented before the Criminal Court for their remand hearings.
