The Vice President of the Elections Commission (EC), Ahmed Akram has tested positive for COVID-19.
Confirming the news, Akram told One Online that the Health Protection Agency (HPA) informed him of his test result today that along with him, his wife had tested positive as well.
Akram said that a child living in the same house tested positive on a random sample collection and so he and the wife tested for COVID-19 as well.
He said that he is currently in home quarantine and are not exhibiting any symptoms.
The Vice President of the Elections Commission further said that he took part in a Commission meeting yesterday which was held within the regulations of the HPA. And since he had not been anywhere aside from his cabin and the meeting room, he would not have had any close contact with anyone at the office.
