President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has today stated that teaching is not merely a profession, it is an essential service.

He made the statement while speaking on the occasion of Teacher's Day.

In his speech, he noted that through their invaluable contribution of educating our young, teachers lay the foundations for national development.

In his message the President also thanked teachers for the tireless efforts they made during the Covid-19 pandemic to educate our young, despite the challenges of the disease. He emphasized that the entire nation owes them a debt of gratitude for their diligence and sacrifice.

The President ended his remarks with a prayer, asking Allah to bless all those who work in the profession of teaching, and to grant them success.
