Emirates to hold daily flights to Maldives

Emirate Airlines has decided to hold daily flights to the Maldives from 7 October 2020. The airline currently has six flights a week between Dubai and Velana International Airline (VIA).

Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL) announced on Twitter yesterday that from 6 October, Emirates is set to start an additional frequency to VIA from Dubai and the airline will using B777ER for its daily flights.

Maldives reopened its borders on 15 July 2020 after closing in late march amid the COVID-19 pandemic. Emirates is among the first airlines to fly to the Maldives after the borders were reopened.

They are also a key airline that brings tourists to the Maldives from the Middle East and Europe. Emirates is one of the most popular airlines in the world.
