The total number of people who have recovered from COVID-19 in the Maldives had risen to 8950 after 196 more people recovered from the illness in the past 24 hours.

Health Protection Agency (HPA) confirmed that in the past 24 hours, total new recoveries were at 196 which brings the total number of recoveries to 8950. With this, the total number of active cases is now 1,166.

The agency also confirmed and additional 59 cases of COVID-19 infections in the Maldives. These include 47 locals and 12 foreigners.

The total number of COVID-19 cases in the Maldives is now 10,157.

There are 34 COVID-19 deaths in the country. These are six foreigners and 28 Maldivians.
