A small child in home quarantine at Gaafu Dhaalu Thinadhoo has tested positive for COVID-19.

The Dr. Abdul Samad Memorial Hospital in Thinadhoo confirmed that a nine-year-old child in home quarantine tested positive on the release sample after completing the home quarantine.

The hospital further advised the public to take extra precaution as a person in home quarantine on the island has tested positive.

While a child in home quarantine has tested positive in Thinadhoo today, a man in home quarantine on the island testing positive was reported earlier in the month as well. However, statistics from the Health Protection Agency (HPA) show no cases of COVID-19 on the island before the case today.
