Maldives Police Service on Saturday warned action against public gatherings that violate the safety guidelines issued by Health Protection Agency (HPA).
They made the statement in a tweet on Saturday.
They added that they have received information of plans to hold gatherings which would be in clear violation of the order issued by the Director General of Public Health regarding public gatherings amid the state of public health emergency declared in the country over the COVID-19 pandemic.
“Legal action will be taken against those who organize and participate in gatherings in violation of HPA’s guidelines,” warned the police in their statement.
While they have warned of action against the violations of safety guidelines, they had previously appealed everyone to follow these guidelines on numerous occasions.
