Current Minister for Housing and Urban Development states that the Housing project "Hiya" announced by the previous administration of President Abdullah Yameen is still active and that the flats of the project should be completed within November of 2019.

Speaking at a press conference held by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Development today, the Minister Ms. Aminath Athifa estimates that the housing project will be completed by November of 2019. She further stated that the Ministry will be taking every step to ensure the completion of the project.

The minister said, "We are working to ensure that by the time the housing project is completed, all other ongoing projects in the area is also complete. That is, to complete all works by the time people prepare the area."

Athifa further assured that, by the time construction is complete, the Ministry would assess whether there are any other issues with the housing project and take necessary steps. She said that a committee has been assembled to investigate any issues with the housing project and that the current issues will be addressed by the committee.

She stated that the list containing permanent addresses of those who acquired a flat under the housing project was announced last month.
