Health Emergency Operations Center (HEOC) has said that five children have tested positive for COVID-19 in the atolls.

The HEOC said that a three-year-old tested positive in Raa Atoll Dhuvaafaru, an eight-year-old tested positive in Laamu Atoll Gan, an 11-year-old, a four-year-old and a two-year-old from Thaa Atoll Omadhoo.

Meanwhile five people tested positive in the atolls yesterday. They are a 55-year-old woman from Duvaafaru, a 53-year-old Philippine national from Kinolhas, a 24-year-old from Hithadhoo, Addu City and two men of the ages 33 and 32 from Hinmafushi Rehabilitation Center.

So far, 6,779 cases of COVID-19 have been reported in the Maldives while 4,222 people have recovered and 2,531 people are in treatment. And 26 people have passed away due to complications with the illness.
