Faafu Atoll Nilandhoo has been brought under the status of monitoring after two people tests positive for COVID-19 on the island.

Health Emergency Operation Center (HEOC) said that two local men of the ages 30 and 43 in home quarantine on the island has tested positive and were confirmed positive on the test before releasing from home quarantine.

The island is now under a monitoring status to conduct contact tracing.

Statistics released by the Health Protection Agency (HPA) show active cases in 15 islands across the country along with two districts in Addu City.

They are Vaavu Atoll Fulidhoo, Thulusdhoo and Maafushi in Kaafu Atoll, Lhaviyani Atoll Hinnavaru, Kudarikilu and Kamadhoo in Baa Atoll, Raa Atoll Hulhudhuffaaru, Haa Dhaalu Naavaidhoo, Kelaa, Ihavandhoo and Filladhoo in Haa Alifu Atoll along with Hithadhoo and Feydhoo in Addu City.
