Medtech Maldives has said that that all the ventilators contracted to them to be brought to the country have been brought in.

The company was contracted under the Single Source Procurement Act on 19 March 2020 to bring in 50 ventilators for MVR 14 million to be used in the treatment of severe patients of COVID-19.

The first 18 of the ventilators were brought in from South Korea and Switzerland on 18 May. The second shipment brought 20 ICU ventilators.

Two of the ventilators from that shipment was delivered to the office of the World Health Organization in the Maldives as part of their efforts develop the health sector in the country.

A tweet sent out by Medteach has said that the company has imported an additional 14 ventilators to the Ministry of Health thus completing the delivery of 50 ventilators contracted by the Ministry of Health.

Medtech said that the ventilators were brought in at a rate of MVR 288.914 million per unit.

Aside from Medtech, a contract was signed with Naad Pvt. Ltd. for MVR 8.3 million to import 26 ventilators while the Dubai Executor General was contracted under the Single Source Procurement to bring ten ventilators.
