Health Protection Agency (HPA) has said that two infants less than a year old, tested positive for COVID-19 on this past Friday.

Deputy Director General of the Health Ministry, Thasleema Usman told One Online that six-month-old girl and a nine-month-old boy tested positive for the illness.

While the six-month-old is an independent case not connected to any clusters, the nine-month-old is connected to the HRZ cluster which saw five people test positive this Friday including a three-year-old.

Statistics from the HPA dashboard show that 189 children under the age of ten has tested positive for COVID-19 in the Maldives.

Yesterday, 156 people were confirmed positive including 134 locals, 20 Bangladeshi nationals, an Indian national and a Sri Lankan national.
