A foreigner dead on arrival at Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH) has tested positive for COVID-19.
Deputy Director General of the Health Ministry, Thasleema Usman has confirmed this to One Online saying that a Bangladeshi national brought to the hospital at 3 a.m. last night was dead on arrival.
She said that the deceased did not have any symptoms of COVID-19 prior and so does not connect the death to COVID-19.
However, the funerary arrangements will be following the COVID-19 procedures and contact tracing will be conducted as well.
The country saw a COVID-19 related death yesterday where a 71-year-old woman who went to the hospital with breathing difficulties passed away while under treatment making her the 16th COVID-19 related death in the country.
