Health Minister, Abdulla Ameen has said that 27 businesses have been closed after a health inspection by the Health Protection Agency (HPA).

While the HPA conducted inspections yesterday, Speaking on Raajje TV’s “Falasurukhee” program last night, Minister Ameen said that on the previous inspection, stores, saloons, cafés and restaurants were visited and those who did not fit the regulation regarding COVID-19 were informed on how to improve.

Minister Ameen said that the yesterday, the second inspection visited 52 businesses and 27 of those places were ordered to close due to violation of the regulations.

He said that they were informed on how to improve on the previous visit but those that did not fit the situation today were ordered to close down immediately.

HPA said that the businesses closed yesterday include one saloon, nine shops, 17 cafés and a restaurant.

Minister Ameen said that if such things do not improve, the spread of COVID-19 would rise and with no cure for such a dangerous illness, it would be difficult to get rid of.
