Two people in home quarantine at Baa Atoll Eydhafushi has tested positive for COVID-19.

Confirming the information, the Deputy Director General of the Health Ministry, Thasleema Usman told One Online that the two people who tested positive are two foreigners who went to the island for home quarantine.

They were confirmed positive when the pre-release samples taken yesterday before their release from home quarantine tested positive. They went into home quarantine on 8 July.

The Baa Atoll Hospital in Eydhafushi said that there are 17 people in home quarantine on the island.

Deputy Director Thasleema said that COVID-19 testing can now be done at the Baa Atoll Hospital as well. However, some samples are being brought to Male’ City for testing. And the two that tested positive today had their samples brought to the capital for testing.
