A father who had repeatedly raped his 13-year-old daughter over the course of several days, has been arrested.

Maldives Police Service has confirmed that they have arrested the 35-year-old local man.

The arrest with the court order came after the case was reported to the Thaa Kimbidhoo Police Station. And the Thaa Atoll Veymandoo Magistrate Court has remanded the man by eight days to be detained at a location decided by the Ministry of Home Affairs to investigate further.

Police said that the case is being investigated by the Veymandoo Police Station.

Recently, the Criminal Court had ordered a man accused of raping an 11-year-old to remand until the end of the investigation. And charges have been brought up against the man accused of blackmailing and raping a 16-year-old at a guesthouse in Male’ City.
