The number of people who have tested positive for COVID-19 in the Maldives have risen to 280.
Speaking at the National Emergency Operations Center (NEOC) press conference, Dr. Ali Latheef said that people who tested positive are currently in isolation facilities.
He said that 118 of the 120 people are at the Velidhoo Isolation Facility, 51 at Farukolhu, 93 in Hulhule Isolation and 82 people at the Hulhumale’ Isolation.
Dr. Latheef said that there are five people seeking treated at the ICU of Dharumavantha Hospital and all are in stable condition.
He said that statistics from other countries show a fatality rate of 2.3 percent which means 15 percent of patients in the country faces complications, 40 patients would have to be admitted and 14 of them would have to be treated at the ICU.
