Health Protection Agency (HPA) has sadi that another five Bangladeshi nationals and eight Maldivians have been confirmed for COVID-19.
The HPA said that 13 people were confirmed tested positive for COVID-19 in Male’ City which includes eight Maldivians and five Bangladeshi nationals. And they are being transferred to the isolation facility.
HPA said that contact tracing is under way to determine if they are connected to any existing cases.
With the new confirmed cases today, the total number of cases found in the Maldivian capital has risen to 62. Two people, a Maldivian and a Bangladeshi national, tested positive for the illness late last night as well according to the HPA.
The case numbers of the people tested positive today are 70, 71, 72, 73, 74, 75, 76, 78, 79, 80, 81 and 82.
So far, the total number of COVID-19 cases found in the Maldives have risen to 82 while 16 people have recovered from the illness.
