The total number of confirmed COVID-19 case in the Maldivian capital has gone up to 40 after six more locals and two Bangladeshi nationals test positive for the illness.
Health Protection Agency (HPA) initially tweeted out that there were six new Bangladeshi nationals and two locals positive for COVID-19 before making the correction to six Maldivians and two Bangladeshi nationals.
The whole country is currently on lock down where transportation between the islands have been banned and general public advised to stay indoors. The people of the capital, Male’ City have been ordered to stay indoors.
