Health Protection Agency (HPA) has said that for contact tracing of people tested positive for COVID-19, the information will be requested formally through official channels.
A tweet sent out by the HPA said that they would be asking for information for contact tracing through the HPA’s official verified Twitter account or through the relevant government bodies.
The HPA has requested the public to be transparent with the information they provide during contact tracing without hiding anything.
So far, a total of 35 people has tested positive for COVID-19 in the Maldives; 15 of them were from the capital city, Male’.
The first case in the capital was confirmed on Wednesday morning which was followed by a 24 hour lock down of the city which has been extended by 14 days.
