Health Protection Agency (HPA) has said that an eighth person has been confirmed positive for COVID-19 in Male’ City.
The HPA made the announcement on Twitter saying that the person is being transferred to isolation facility and at this time, it is unclear whether the person was in contact with any of the previously confirmed COVID-19 patients.
While the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in the Maldivian capital has gone up to eight, the total number of people who tested positive in the Maldives is now 28 and 16 of them have recovered. And two people were confirmed positive after they left the country and there are ten locals currently in treatment.
The first COVID-19 case in Male’ City was confirmed on Wednesday morning followed by a 24 hour lock down which has no extended to 14 days as the number have risen to eight.
