A person in the Maldivian capital, Male' City, has tested positive for COVID-19.

Health Protection Agency (HPA) said that this is the first positive case from Male' City and the patient is now being transferred to an isolation facility.

HPA took to Twitter to make the announcement saying that it was a Maldivian national who visited the flu clinic behind Male' Hiyaa in Male' City.

This is the sixth confirmed case of a Maldivian national in the Maldives.
