Government appointed Spokesperson for the state response to the COVID-19 Corona Virus outbreak, Mohamed Mabrook Abdul Aziz has said that results are pending of 139 samples taken for testing.

At the press conference today, Mabrook said that so far 1089 samples from the Maldives have been tested and 17 samples have tested positive and 933 samples tested negative while results are pending on 139 samples.

He said that there are 17 people at the Isolation Facility in Velidhoo and three people are at Dharumavantha Hospital along with a total 867 people in quarantine.

Talking about the flu-clinics, Mabrook said that 255 people have used the service in the past 24 hours and since its inauguration, 4868 people in total have visited the flu-clinic for service.

So far 17 people have been tested positive for COVID-19 in the Maldives; two locals and 15 foreigners. Two of these people were confirmed positive after they left the country. The people in treatment for the illness in the country are the two locals.
