After showing symptoms of COVID-19 Corona Virus, a foreigner a Sun Aqua Iru Veli is being tested for the disease. Health Protection Agency (HPA) said that the resort has been brought to a status of monitoring.

In a tweet HPA confirmed that they have taken samples from a foreigner who developed Covid-19 like symptoms, adding that the resort is being monitored until the results of the tests are back.

Every island where suspected cases are found are being locked down by the government and reopened after assessing the risks.

So far there are eight confirmed cases of Covid-19 in the Maldives. All of them are foreigners.
