Family Legal Clinic has started providing free legal advice for those who become victims to sexual harassment and assault.
The service was launched yesterday in conjunction with the International Women’s Day.
Family Legal Clinic was established in 2014 and has been providing free legal advise to victims of domestic and family abuse.
According to the Family Legal Clinic, sexual harassment is a major obstacle to women in the workplace. And the fact that such cases are not seeing an acceptable solution or the people responsible for it are not being accountable shows that the Anti-Sexual Harassment Act of 2014 is not being adequately implemented.
Vice Chairperson of Family Legal Court, Suveyza Naeem said that although many women face harassment from different levels of people at the workplace, most women do not know how to proceed when they face sexual harassment in the workplace. She said that most women are hesitant to report such crimes because they do not feel secure at the workplace.
Free legal advise provided by the Family Legal Clinic include advising on how to proceed when harassed, filing complaints and taking cases to the employment tribunal.
For free legal advise on domestic cases and sexual harassment at the workplace, Family Legal Clinic can be reached by calling 997-7771 between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. on weekdays.
