Tourism Minister, Ali Waheed has said that in the event of a COVID-19 Corona Virus outbreak in the Maldives, the public needs to learn to live with the disease.

Minister Waheed made the statement at a government press conference tonight at Dharubaaruge.

He said that currently, the Maldives is not in a situation where it needs to panic and so, advises the members of the public to follow the World Health Organization (WHO) regulations.

He added that so far Maldives have had zero confirmed cases of the Coronavirus due to the strong preventive measures taken by the state, while stressing that Maldives is prepared for the worst case scenario.

Maldives have so far banned passengers from four countries regarding the Coronavirus. These include China, Iran, South Korea as well Italy.
