Tourism Minister, Ali Waheed has said that there are six people quarantined at the isolation and monitoring facility in Farukolhufushi.

Minister Waheed made the statement at a government press conference tonight in connection with the COVID-19 Corona Virus situation.

These include a woman and child who had travelled to the Maldives from Beijing China, three Italian tourists from V. Thinadhoo as well as the doctor from Kuredu Island Resort.

Minister Ali Waheed further noted that Vilivaru will also be used a quarantine facility and added that it currently can house 30 patients as well.

Even though there are no confirmed cases as of yet, Maldives is currently at a white alert.
