UAE journalists in Maldives to promote Maldivian tourism

A group of journalists from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) has arrived in the Maldives to promote Maldivian tourism abroad.

Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC) said that the journalists were brought in cooperation with the Etihad Alliance as part of familiarization trips planned for the year.

MMPRC said that the current team of journalists are on the familiarization trip on the theme of “Luxury”. And the purpose of these visits is to showcase the natural beauty of the Maldives and market Maldivian tourism to the Middle-East.

The team visiting the Maldives include journalists from The Insider and popular bloggers in the UAE and the experiences from the visit will be shared on the news, blogs and social media.

The team of journalists from UAE will be spending five days in the Maldives with accommodation at Emerald Maldives Resort and Spa, Westin Maldives and Grand Park Kodhipparu.

Last year, 60,003 tourists visited the Maldives from the Middle-East; a 15.1 percent increment from the previous year. MMPRC said that they have plans to further increase the number of tourists visiting the Maldives from the region.
