China Machinery Engineering Corporation (CMEC) has donated a row of toilets to the isolation facility established in Farukolhufushi following the Corona Virus outbreak.
One of the largest companies operating in the Maldives, CMEC, completed the toilets developed at the Farukolhufushi area of the second phase of the Hulhumale’ development, was handed over to the Housing Development Corporation (HDC) today.
The development was handed over by the General Representative of CMEC in the Maldives, Liu Xiaoda and was accepted by the Managing Director, Suhail Ahmed.
Speaking at the special handover ceremony, Suhail said that the Maldives have conducted various types of projects since CMEC began operating in the country and highlighted the housing projects by the company in Hulhumale’.
The General Representative of CMEC in the Maldives also spoke at the ceremeony stating that they have received full cooperation from the Maldives during this Corona pandemic and the Maldivian President, Ibrahim Mohamed Solih sent a letter to the Chinese President, Xi Jinping. And the Maldivian Foreign Minister, Abdulla Shahid, too, sent a letter to the people of China and decided to donate a million cans of tuna.
Liu Xiaoda said that there is nothing that cannot be accomplished when the Maldives and China work together.
Along with the toilet facilities developed at the isolation facilitiy, CMEC also donated medical protective equipment and disinfectant among others used in the fight against the Corona Virus.
