Police: Report say last night’s fatal traffic collision was intentional

Maldives Police Service has said that it was reported last night that the 26-year-old died in traffic collision last night after he intentionally hit the other motorcycle.

Police today said that around 10:28 p.m. last night, it was reported that a motorcycle going from east to west on Buruzu Magu hit another motorcycle going the same direction intentionally.

Following the collision, one of the drivers, a 26-year-old man was taken to Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGHM) for emergency treatment where he passed around at 1:45 p.m. according to the hospital.

One Online has learned that the deceased is a 26-year-old young man named Mohamed Miduhath.

The other driver involved in the collision is a 31-year-old man, according to the police and there was a 22-year-old woman on the passenger seat; both sustained various degrees of injuries. The woman was also taken to IGMH for treatment while the man was taken to ADK Hospital.

Police said that neither of the drivers involved in the collision last night has a driver’s license and both vehicles sustained various degrees of damages.

The fatal traffic collision is being investigated further by the police.
