Former President, Maumoon Abdul Gayoom has been released from Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH) after treatment.

Maumoon, who is also the acting President of the political party, Maldives Reform Movement (MRM), announced his discharge from the hospital today on Twitter. The Secretary General of MRM, Abdul Ali has previously said that the former President was admitted at the hospital on 30 December 2019 for testing after a prolonged cold.

President Maumoon said that he got treated at IGMH for an infection. And he was discharged to home when he got better.

The former President expressed his gratitude to the nurses, doctors and management for their hospitality and noted their efforts.
