MP for Kaashidhoo constituency, Abdulla Jabir has said that the President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih and the Speaker of the Parliament, former President Mohamed Nasheed are aware that the former President, Maumoon Abdul Gayoom took money from him.

MP Jabir made the statement during the debate held at the parliament sitting today. He added that the loan was given as he knew no lies would be involved in the transaction.

However, he said that the attorney representing President Maumoon is clearly lying.

He has also lodged a case against President Maumoon over the MVR 29 million loan at the Civil Court. After a hearing today, the judge overseeing this case noted that if there were no further issues in the case to be heard, a verdict will be issued during the concluding hearings.

The case noted that MP Jabir had loaned MVR 29 million to President Maumoon, and failure to repay this loan would result in Kinbigasdhoshuge being transferred under his name.
